Saturday’s Winter Solstice

December 21

Let’s cozy in for one of the most sacred days of the year. Saturday’s Solstice, signals the transition from one season to the next. Welcome to 2024’s longest night and a sacred pocket of rest and renewal. It’s the solar year’s rebirth. This is also the day the sun moves from free-wheeling Sagittarius to steady Capricorn.

There’s added harmony to this Solstice from Thursday’s Venus-Jupiter trine, a boost we’ll definitely take — and savor. The vibes are noted and worth embracing. It’s the first Solstice where Pluto will not be in Capricorn since 2007. We shall see what Pluto in Aquarius brings. The darkest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere, we have the pleasure of watching each day gain a little more light over the next six months. Can you stand in the balance? What will you do with the dark? Find the magic.

It’s an ideal time to begin reflecting on the year that was. What has come before in the past six months and what are our intentions for the next six? What worked well for us in the past year? What did not? What would we like to let go? Is it time to make a different plan? What do you want to leave in 2024? To carry forth into 2025?

This energetic shift just happens to coincide with the end of the Gregorian calendar. There is no relation between the astrological year and the Gergorian calendar. The cosmic year begins with Aries. SO some of us use the entirety of winter to reflect and reset. We cocoon. We marinate, generate, contemplate. How will we emerge from this quiet time of darkness that ends with Pisces and the Vernal Equinox? What will you do on the Solstice specifically? How can you honor this night

Altars. Mind maps. Ceremonies. Rituals. Meditation. Smudging. Journaling. Star gazing. Taking it in, breathing it out.
