This is no ordinary eclipse. Energy has been shifting wildly over the past two weeks—mainly between Pisces and Virgo; the sun and the moon; Saturn, the North Node, Neptune, Mercury, Venus, Pluto and Neptune. We just had the Equinox. All that energy serves as a bridge between Pisces and Aries. This is MASSIVE. 

Mars is here to get to the heart of the matter. Cancer, ruled by the moon, is the seat of emotion and nurturing. Mars is all about drive. Cancer tries to create bonds and safety and family; Mars courts independence. But Mars in Cancer is also fiercely protective. That energy is on blast.

Retrogrades. From the perspective of timing, astrology tells us when we’ll get more help from some planets, aspects or signatures, and when we’ll face growth edges or learn lessons. From that POV, retrogrades are a time for review.

Opportunity. If we frame the next three weeks as an opportunity, we can make excellent use of Eclipse Season, and both Venus and Mercury retrograde in Aries (plus Mars in Cancer).

March 1, Venus stations retrograde in the sign of her detriment. (Mars is also in its detriment in Cancer.) Because Aries is the sign of her fall, she struggles here. She cannot be as helpful.

This is both a rough and a blessed transit. Blessed in the beginning, rough in the middle, then blessed again, and then just…whatever we get with Venus direct in Aries, the sign of her fall.

(March 1, continued…) Venus retrogrades back to the point it was January 28th/29th.The last time Venus completed this exact transit was eight years ago. (Venus will complete the near exact transit every eight years).

Endings. And beginnings. The New Moon is in Pisces, a lovely sign for cozying up. This is the last moon before eclipse season—it’s close—but we’re not there yet. This is the final new moon of this past cosmic year. A portal.

Remember, we’re in the fire swamp. We are in the quick-sandy, gooey, phlegmy height of Mars RX in Cancer. Mars is in its detriment where it struggles.  The week of January 12 was the peak of Mars Rx.

If you’re familiar with The Princess Bride, picture The Fire Swamp. That’s where we are right now. Sinking sand…quicksand if you will. Move too quickly, get swallowed up. Have patience. Move in a way that will be productive long term.

Prepare for a performance. We have a big-ass chaotic full moon in Leo on Wednesday. It sits in an exact square to Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is the planet of truthtelling, change, awakenings, breakthroughs. It is LOUD.

The new beginnings keep coming. New Moon in Capricorn shows up and shows out at the perfect time this year. Nine days after the Solstice, right before the New Year, she's here to be helpful. Not a super moon, but a super-useful new moon.

Sleep is the word, is the word, is the word, it's a move, it's got meaning….Sleep is the way we are feeling. Capricorn season is all about slow and steady. The more rested we are, the more strategic we can be.
